Skate Mates Club

Thanks to funding from Live Like Ralph, we’re able to offer an incredible opportunity for young people around Leeds who would love to learn how to skate, but who may struggle to access equipment. The best part? We’re delivering this programme for FREE!

Skate Mates: What’s it all about?

Our Skate Mates project is aimed at young people from the ages of 8 - 13, who may struggle to access skateboarding or other fun alternative activities. We have spaces for 13 complete beginner skaters, who we will work with to develop their skills and confidence on a skateboard.

Upon completion of the project, we will provide each attendee with their own skateboard and helmet so that they can continue their skateboarding journey! Participants must attend at least 5 of the 6 sessions offered to receive a skateboard and helmet.

Sessions run every Monday for 6 weeks, starting on the 6th January.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

It is important that this opportunity reaches the right young people. Below are the entry requirements for young people wishing to book a place on Skate Mates. We may ask for evidence of these:

- Must be a complete beginner skateboarder, but keen to learn!

- Must be receiving free school meals

- Must reside in an LS7, LS8, LS9, LS10 or LS11 Postcode
